Russian Extreme Project and Red Bull present new B.A.S.E. climbing project.

This Project is a continuation of new adventure - a kind of extreme sport that we opened in 2002 and named "B.A.S.E. climbing". The goal is not just to get to the top (not around but via the line of the future falling), but to do a B.A.S.E. jump from the summit.

This Project is a continuation of new adventure - a kind of extreme sport that we opened in 2002 and named "B.A.S.E. climbing". The goal is not just to get to the top (not around but via the line of the future falling), but to do a B.A.S.E. jump from the summit. B.A.S.E. climbing is a unique combination of two unlike kinds of sports: technically difficult mountaineering and B.A.S.E.-jumping. Select few in the world are engaged in this kind of activity for today.

Grand Jorasses is the mythical mountain in mountaineering circles. Its North face adds up the 1200 vertical meters!
During the last hundred years since the first conquest, the mountain has stayed a criterion of sports skill for all climbers. It is one of the few mountains in the Alps of such scale where nobody has made a B.A.S.E. jump yet!

Grand Jorasses has remained close for parachuters just because a complex route up to an exit point they need to climb. The chosen “Le Nez” (Bole/Cortese, 2005, 7b, M4, 1100m) route via North face center is considered one of the most complex.

Other Russian Extreme B.A.S.E. climbing Project, successfully done for the last time: 2002 Expedition to Baffin Island, Arctic Canada, Big Sail peak (altitude difference 1300 meters, average steepness of 85-90 degrees)
2003 Expedition to Greenland. Mt. Nalumasortoq (2054m) peak with vertical gain 850 - 1000 meters, average steepness of 85-90 degrees. The first B.A.S.E.-jump in Greenland!
2004 Karakorum, Pakistan, Expedition. Mt. Amin Brakk (5850m), West face with altitude difference of 1300 meters and average steepness of 80 degrees. The exit point - 5650 m - it was one of the highest (altitude above Sea Level) B.A.S.E.- jumps.
